Chamber Live: Local Suppliers and Local Procurement
The challenges of the past year have spurred a national movement to supporting local – from buying from local supply chains to wholesale changes to procurement practices.
As the prospect of a world post-pandemic becomes clearer, the momentum behind the growing ethos of buying locally is not something we want to lose.
The indications are good. Plymouth City Council has set a target to increase spending with local suppliers by 10 per cent over the next two years, securing 280 jobs and keeping an extra £8.2 million GVA in the local economy.
In this Chamber Live we explore the ways some of the region’s leading businesses have adapted their procurement practices and look at how your business can better support local so we build a more sustainable economy for all.
