Go grey or go green? How to be sustainable?
Are you tearing your hair out thinking of how to go green in terms of sustainability in your business? If the answer is yes, come and find out more at our Crunchy Breakfast where our experts can update you on the latest topics to help our environment.
Take action and join the Chamber in discovering how to be more proactive in terms of sustainability in your daily and business life.
We will hear more about this and other topics from the following guest speakers:
Daniel Lampard- Ocean BMW, “BMW: A Sustainable Future” It will focus on the work BMW has already conducted into environmental sustainability, and what the future holds. There will also be a brief case study using the BMW i3, one of our current vehicles, showing how both BMW’s past and future focus on stainability is being applied into our present day products.
Amanda Keetley - founded Less Plastic in 2015 to raise awareness of the ocean plastic crisis and inspire individuals and organisations of all sizes to use less plastic. She has brought the 'less plastic lifestyle' to a wide audience via her blog, infographics and social media following.
She wrote her book, Plastic Game Changer, to empower professionals to accelerate plastic reduction efforts in their organisations; featuring her practical five-step framework to become a Plastic Game Changer and invaluable insights from real-world Plastic Game Changers. She also offers talks, workshops, consultancy services and educational materials to inspire positive change.
Duncan Banks- IU Energy, How do I take on the Green business challenge?
The UK is committed to reaching net zero carbon by 2050. Plymouth City Council has stepped up to the climate change plate by announcing a Climate Emergency. This brings the target date for a carbon neutral city forward to 2030.
We too must play our part in this commitment.
Understanding what makes up the UK energy mix and how your business can reduce or avoid demanding carbon based energy is central to the sustainability issue.
How can you identify and reduce energy waste and generate energy on-site for your business to use when you have peak demand? Using examples of Chamber members who have made positive changes to their carbon foot print, the options will be explained.
