Join us on February 8 for a special event with the Plymouth City Council Leader, Cllr Tudor Evans OBE, and Devon County Council Leader, John Hart, on the city and county’s successes and exciting plans for the future.
Cllr Evans will give an update on the progress the Council has made in ensuring the city continues to move forward despite the huge challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic.
He will reflect on a testing year for local people and businesses, looking at the impact Covid-19 had on Plymouth's plans for 2020 and how the Council has worked to deliver a number of extraordinary economic projects, often in the face of enormous adversity.
The city's success stories include the £50m Barcode complex, the grand opening of The Box Plymouth, the launch of the Mayflower Autonomous Ship, and Phase 2 of the exciting Oceansgate development.
Cllr Evans will cover and take questions on Plymouth's Resurgam Programme and its six pillars: Build 4 Plymouth, Spend for Plymouth, Skills 4 Plymouth, Sector Action Plans, City Centre renaissance and Recovery beacons.
He will also talk about the Council's 2021 budget which includes a world-class events programme, a £385m City Centre investment programme, and a number of major funding bids such as the levelling-up fund.
We will also be joined for this special event by Cllr John Hart, leader of Devon County Council and Cabinet Member for Policy, Corporate, Resources and Asset Management.
Cllr Hart will discuss the lasting impact the pandemic has had on Devon's communities and businesses, and the Council's plans for recovery.
We are lucky to have Cllr Evans and Cllr Hart give their time to the Chamber and PABC members for presentations and a Q&A session, so we hope you can join us for this exciting event.
