Following this initiative we have created this event which will help you understand how education and economy is linked\, and the importance of raising awareness in this subject. We will be looking at how education and development of the next generation can benefit the oceans\, therefore the planet and how this links to the economy. \n\nWe have identified the need for Plymouth to encourage new generations to work and look for a feasible career in the Marine Sector and fulfil this with the experience of sailing on board different vessels to achieve this.\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n Photograph by Shield Media Services\n\n\nSpeakers at this event will include ...\n\n\n Nicola Bridge\, Head of Conservation Education & Communications - Ocean Conservation Trust.\n Jonathan Turner. Director - NLA International. Jonathan will speak about blue economy solutions by creating concepts and projects to provide socio-economic benefit in the marine and maritime environments.\n Jacob Barry\, 17 year old student who has sailed on board of Pelican. Jacob will be speaking about his experience on board and the opportunities that this has brought from being on board Pelican.\n Esther Farrant\, Marine Biologist and Sail Training Enthusiast\, who has sailed with Tectona Trust and Island Sailing Trust. Esther will be speaking about the incorporation of vessels and training as another source of education will contribute to the society.\n Charlotte Braungardt\, Associate Professor in Environmental Science School of Geography\, Earth and Environmental Sciences - University of Plymouth.Charlotte will speak about science at the Marine Institute and her experience as part of the pilot project for Adventure Under Sail and the how has this benefited the students. \n\n\n\n\n\n.
