Notorious dad dancer and bad joke teller Stuart Elford is finally being locked up – and unless £999 is raised he’ll never get out!

Stuart, Devon & Plymouth Chamber of Commerce’s Chief Executive, is taking part in the Jail & Bail event for Children’s Hospice South West.

The annual event sees fund-raisers ‘arrested’ and hauled before the courts to explain their wicked crimes.
Inevitably, they are found guilty and locked up. In order to be let out, they need to fund-raise their bail – in Stuart’s case £999.
Stuart’s crimes have been listed on the court sheet as:
Dad dancing
Telling appalling jokes

Stuart said: “I admit it, I’m a terrible dancer but I’ve always thought I’m good at jokes – I’m obviously wrong!
“Please, please help me raise the £999 I need to get out of jail! It only takes a couple of clicks.
“In all seriousness, this is for a truly wonderful cause. The work Children’s Hospice South West does around our region helps an incredible amount of people. Hopefully this bit of fun can make a real difference to the lives of families who rely on their dedicated service.”
Staff at the Chamber offices were quoted as saying: “Stuart is accused by his staff at the Chamber of Commerce. When a great record comes on the radio Stuart can’t help but strut his funky stuff around the office.
“He thinks he’s John Travolta but it’s more like John Revolter. He has less rhythm than a rattlesnake and his moves give you the blues. To cap it off, he tells the world’s worst puns – he thinks he is a shining wit, but his jokes get more groans than a hernia clinic!”
For more than 25 years Children's Hospice South West has been caring for children with life-threatening conditions by providing children's hospice and professional family support services.
